Returning to Saint Cloche gallery this Autumn, sought-after Melbourne artist Hannah Nowlan and, for the first time, emerging Sydney ceramic sculptor Tatsiana Shevarenkova.

‘Long steeped in mythology, my practice dissects personal narratives as a process of ritual and remedy. Notions of identity are embedded in abstracted landscape forms, symbolised by recurring motifs and heavily weighted by grounding, earthy tones.
With a longstanding affinity to water, in particular the ocean, for this body of work I have chosen to explore the journey of water within the earth, diverting my gaze underground.
In a gestural sense, Soul Bed evokes water, minerals and clay. Tracing the lineage of emotions, from murky to pure as they rise to the surface. Similar to water in basins of the earth, rising and falling.’
